Everything you need to know
1. “What if I’m not good enough for lessons?”
You don’t need to reach a level before taking lessons — lessons are how you reach the level you want. I coach complete beginners through to low handicappers. Every session is built around you, your goals, and your pace. No judgement, just progress.
2. “What parts of the game do you coach?”
The entire game — not just swing mechanics. Full swing, short game, putting, bunker play, and on-course strategy. We work on whatever gives you the biggest scoring improvement. Golf isn’t improved in isolation — it’s improved as a system.
3. “Where do lessons take place?”
All lessons take place at Matlock Golf Club using the full practice facilities. That includes the driving range, chipping and putting greens, dedicated short game area, the golf course for on-course sessions, and our TrackMan studio. This means we can train every part of your game in the right environment.
4. “What’s included in the lesson price?”
Everything you need — no hidden extras. Range balls are included, and if we do an on-course lesson the green fee is covered. Lessons include video analysis, 3D analysis where appropriate, use of training aids, and a written/video review sent after each session so you know exactly what to practice. You’re paying for a complete coaching experience, not just time.
5. “Should I book a single lesson or a programme?”
Both options work — it depends on your goals. A single lesson is perfect if you want quick help with a specific issue. A programme is better if you want structured improvement and accountability. Many golfers start with one lesson and move into a programme once they see how clear the process is.
6. “What’s the benefit of a coaching programme over single lessons?”
Programmes create momentum. Instead of starting fresh each time, we track progress, follow a plan, and build skills step by step. Golf improvement isn’t random — it’s structured. A programme gives you direction, consistency, and faster results.
7. “Am I locked into a programme if I sign up?”
No pressure and no traps. Programmes are designed to support you, not tie you down. The goal is to create a coaching experience that makes you want to continue — not feel forced to.
8. “What if I just want to try one lesson first?”
That’s absolutely fine. Many golfers do exactly that. One lesson will give you clarity, direction, and something practical to work on. There’s no obligation — just improvement.
9. “How long will it take to see improvement?”
Most golfers see measurable improvement in the first session. You’ll leave knowing exactly what to practice and why. Long-term progress comes from consistency — programmes simply accelerate that process.
12. “What actually happens in a lesson?”
We talk about your goals, assess your game, and focus on the area that gives the biggest return. You’ll get clear feedback, drills to take away, video support, and a post-lesson review so you’re never guessing what to work on.
